PBS Positive Behaviour Support Complex Needs

This course aims to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to reduce the likelihood of abusive and threatening behaviour occurring within the workplace and has been written in line with the Level 2 Award in Conflict Management. Topics covered include: * Communication * Human response in conflict situations * Assessing and reducing the risks in conflict situations * De-escalating conflict in emotive situations * Good practice following a conflict situation

PBS is a person-centred approach to supporting people who display or at risk of displaying behaviours which challenge. It involves understanding the reasons for the behaviour and considering the person as a whole - including their life history, physical health and emotional needs - to implement ways of supporting them. It focuses on creating physical and social environments that are supportive and capable of meeting people's needs, and teaching people new skills to replace the behaviours which challenge.
